With a medical career spanning more than 30 years across a few states, Dr. Gail Weingast didn’t begin her educational pursuits on a medical trajectory. Although she completed an M.D. and later solely pursued this path toward becoming a doctor -- one who today serves as Chief of Ultrasound and Chief of Breast Imaging for William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut -- she began college in Medford, Massachusetts with an immensely different mindset. Weingast studied Spanish while at the Jackson College of Tufts University, and graduated with this Bachelor of Arts in 1969. Immediately following this Spanish degree, however, she continued her education toward an M.D. at Boston University.
