Her educational journey began in 1969, which means Dr. Gail Weingast’s medical career is more than four decades old. It wasn’t at all clear back then that she wanted a career in medicine, given that her first degree was in Spanish, which she earned at Jackson College at Tufts University. After she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, however, within a few years, she attended the Boston University School of Medicine, and officially became Gail Weingast MD in 1976.
Following her stint at medical school, Dr. Weingast did a pediatrics internship from 1976-1977 at Colorado General Hospital in Denver. She followed that with residency in pediatrics over the next two years, then a residency in the field of radiology from 1980 to 1983, as well as a fellowship in the field of ultrasound in 1983. All of those were at Colorado General, also, although Dr. Gail Weingast completed her post-graduate studies as a radiologist at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver, from 1983 to 1984.
