These days, Dr. Gail Weingast is the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imagingat William W. Backus Hospital in Connecticut. As a radiology specialist, Dr. Gail Weingast has been at Backus Hospital for more than two decades now. In that time, she has been able to guide their radiology department into its current position as a premiere medical facility in New England and beyond. While her path to her current important position wasn't always a straight line, she values every aspect of her educational and career journey because it has all contributed to make her the fine doctor she is today.
After she attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine and earned her degree in 1976, Dr. Gail Weingast completed a long list of internships, residencies and fellowships at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, until she felt that she has a solid enough background as a radiologist. She completed her post-graduate studies in 1984 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver, and soon after, she practiced at a number of hospitals, mostly in Colorado, but also in New York, before she finally settled into Backus Hospital and the position that would define her career.
